REGINA - A woman from the village of Beechy, Sask., has 24 million reasons to smile.
Jean Canning has finally claimed her $24-million prize for winning the last-ever Super 7 lottery jackpot that was drawn on Sept. 18. Canning says at first she didn't believe it. She thought maybe she won a free ticket, nothing more.
Canning says it didn't dawn on her until the clerk at the Lucky Lake service station west of Regina quietly told her that she was now a millionaire.
She says she began to shake and was so overcome with emotion that the clerk rushed to get her a chair and a cup of coffee.
